Scarlet or Bonnie

It has become dificult to know if it is Scarlet of her daughter Bonnie that is accessing the upstairs feeder. Bonnie's colors have come in beautifully.

Someone asked how to tell the difference between a male and female hummingbird. I can only state what applies to the Ruby Throated Hummingbirds that visit our feeders. The male has the distinctive red on the throat area. You can only see this color when he turns in just the right way. At a distance you can tell it is a male because you see what appears to be a white collar that you will not see on the females.
